Why Wait for a Crisis to Happen When We Can Prepare and Prevent to Save Lives Without Risking Privacy and With No Discrimination? United States Patent 11379003

Need - We all know that there is a need for a solution that tracks everyone without risking their privacy and allows contacting everyone that has been exposed to an emergency faster than the current several hours or even days. Ability to track, trace, and contact individuals accurately and completely has become a necessary requirement.

Solution - My invention relates to a medical tracking wristband that provides a solution to help deal with emergency or crisis situations, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes for the United States and globally. It is a wearable/lockable computing device that has a main body with a QR code, indicator lights, a location tracker, and a processor.

Privacy-friendly - My solution is to be preferred to the use of cell phones. Using cell phones risks privacy and it is likely that a high percentage of individuals will not opt in, due to the ability of personal cell phones to be used to track people. Using cell phones would likely provide an unreliable reading, as only a limited number of users will adopt a new technology, not to mention the fact that many people do not own cell phones or carry them at all times. With the medical tracking wristband, optional additional medical information can be uploaded directly by the user. No social security information is required.

Emergency crisis - local or global - A crisis warning can be triggered when an individual is inside or in proximity of an area affected by an emergency. This condition can be local (i.e., limited to a specific city or geographical area) or global.

Warning - The warning activates a visual indication on the device, usually a red light. This notification has the advantage of alerting individuals as early as possible to warn them of a crisis help them prepare and get to safety/shelter, for example, since many crises can potentially happen during the night when in bed.

Vibration - The medical tracking wristband also includes a vibrating arrangement to alert the user. This feature is especially useful in case an emergency occurs at night or visually impaired.

Vast range of applications - The emergency situations can potentially encompass any kind of crisis including, but not limited to, any kind of climate change condition that can require informing and/or alerting individuals for their own safety.  Using the medical tracking wristband to plan and prepare for any kind of emergency situations will save lives.

Adaptability - The medical tracking wristband is well suited both in case contact tracing is not required (e.g. climate change scenarios), and also for scenarios where contact tracing of a user is helpful or even required, such as a pandemic situation (click here for more information).

Lockable - The medical tracking wristband is waterproof and can lock on the user’s wrist like a hospital bracelet. A controllable lock (or similar arrangement) can prevent the device from being borrowed, stolen, lost, or forgotten. It conveniently provides a stronger reliability indicator also for places that do not require IDs, such as stores or sports gatherings.

Everybody accounted for – If desired, this wristband can also track the unaccounted for or missing persons wearing the device to ensure that everyone is safe, everyone can be traced faster, and lives are saved.

Visible medical information for First Responders - Optional charms can be attached to display medical information, name, etc. This area on the wristband has also been designated for self-expression through charms, which can add a little fun for kids and/or adults.

Clearance - Once the emergency subsides or is solved, a different kind of indication (usually a green light) advises the users that the crisis has been cleared. This indication is not modifiable by the user and can be used as a passport to show clearance of the crisis or condition for a particular user.

Pandemic - A very specific and very actual kind of emergency condition is a pandemic situation. For more information on my Pandemic Wristband, click www.pandemicwristband.com.

Summary - A medical tracking lockable wristband that provides a privacy-friendly solution to a long-felt need in case of an emergency crisis or other similar conditions. Warning of and clearance from the condition are timely and clearly indicated on the device. Use of the wristband can be extended to pandemic scenarios. Prepare for a crisis rather than wait for a crisis to save lives.
